When replacing “Disk 1” and “Disk 2”, strictly observe the following items.
《Strictly observe when changing disks》
The replacement of “disk 1” and “disk 2” is performed according to the “basic disk replacement procedure” shown below.
[Please replace the disk. Press the open button on the main unit to go to the multiplayer screen. After swapping disc 1 and disc 2, close the CD door on the main unit and restart the game. ] (The user removes “Disk 1” = presses the open button on the main unit)
* The procedure for saving (saving) necessary data to the backup RAM has been omitted.
When the main game of “Disc 1” ends and “Disc 2” is entered, the disc is replaced in accordance with “Basic Disc Replacement Procedure”.
When “Disc 2” starts with the transition from “Disc 1”, display that is not related to the main game (display of the Sega logo, title screen, etc. in the application) is not performed as much as possible, and the game is connected smoothly. It is desirable to do. (There are some inconsistencies with the contents of 1. Basic design, 2> Title sequence, but please refer to the recommended specifications in 5.)
If the game starts from the contents of “Disk 2” at “Continue” even though it was started from “Disk 1”, it will start from “Disk 2” before the disk replacement process. Inform the user by screen display.
(The user selects continue from the title in “Disc 1”)
As shown in the basic design section, in the case of a game over, continue, or game clear on “Disc 2”, it always returns to the application start point (“SEGA logo”) in “Disc 2”. As will be described later, in the case of resetting by “A + B + C + start button” of the pad, the “title screen” in “disc 2” is restored. Therefore, the case of transition from “Disc 2” to “Disc 1” is when there is no record (save data) starting from the contents of “Disc 2” despite starting up with “Disc 2” or “Disc 2”. This is only possible if the user selects a record that starts with the contents of “Disk 1” but started from the contents of “Disk 1”. This will be explained in the section 4> Dealing with disc insertion errors.
* If there is a game connection from "Disc 2" to "Disc 1",
2> From “Disc 1” to “Disc 2” 1) At the end of “Disc 1”
Replace the disk according to the section.
[This is disk 2. No records can be started from this disc. Reinsert disk 1. ]
* Starting from the contents of “Disc 1” even though it was started up from “Disc 1”, it is not included when there is no record (save data). (This is because “Disk 1” always has a function that allows you to start from the beginning)
* It is up to each application to decide whether to provide a “start” function after “Disk 2”.
