What is the latest version of author editor?

Q)
I am currently using Author Editor Ver 1.13. Is there a newer version of Author Editor?

A)
Regarding the authoring tool, the version provided on the CD-ROM this time (Movie Tools DISK ver 95/10/31) is the final version.
There are no plans for future version updates.

"Video sample acquisition error" occurs in MovieToSaturn-J.

Q)
While running MovieToSaturn-J (drag and drop movies one by one)

"Error number: -108 A video sample acquisition error occurred."

A message appears and the process ends midway.
Some movies end normally. Be sure to reproduce the movie where the error occurs at the same location. The ratio of movies with errors to movies without errors is approximately 1:1. It works fine when I change QuickTime 2.5 to 2.1.

A)
This error occurs because MovieToSaturn-J Ver 1.08b is not compatible with QT Ver 2.5. Please update MTSJ to Ver. 1.09.

"Video and audio lengths are different" error occurs in MovieToSaturn-J.

Q)
When converting a Cinepack compressed movie using MovieToSaturn-J

"The video and audio lengths are different"

An error occurs.
This error occurs with multiple movies.

A)
Check the TimeScale using Dumpster etc., and if it is a value other than 600, try setting it to 600.
Also, if you edit and compress on Premiere, the above error may occur, so try editing only on Premiere, leaving the output uncompressed, and then compressing it using another compression tool such as MovieShop.

Cinepak compression does not improve image quality in Premiere

Q)
I'm applying Cinepak compression using Premiere on my Mac, but the image quality doesn't improve, so I'm wondering if there are any other good compression tools.

A)
First, check the version of "Premiere". The latest version 4.2 has improved the image quality of Cinepak compression, such as the ability to specify key frames.
We also recommend "MOVIE SHOP 1.2" as another tool.
This tool can be downloaded from Apple's homepage.

Error occurs when compressing Cinepak with DeBabelizer

Q)
When I tried to load a sequence of CG created for a video using DeBabelizer and at the same time apply Cinepak compression when outputting, DeBabelizer caused an error when the number of images loaded exceeded 600.

A)
I've never heard of DeBabelizer having a limit on the number of images it can read, so it's probably a problem with the Macintosh system.

Possible solutions include dividing the movie into a number of parts that will not cause errors, compressing them, and then stitching the movies together using MoviePlayer, etc., or using Premiere instead of DeBabelizer.
