explanation of words

DSP (Digital Signal Processor)
This is a high-speed calculation dedicated circuit that mainly performs calculations (multiplication and addition) at high speed.

gouraud shading
Gouraud is a type of calculation algorithm. This is a process that calculates the color of each position (dot, pixel) of each displayed object, such as ``where the light hits it, it's bright, and where it's in the shadow, it's dark.''

C3
A type of error processing that refers to a state in which errors cannot be corrected when reading data from a CD.

frame buffer
This is RAM for storing pictures to display. Line buffers had limitations on the number of pictures that could be lined up horizontally, but since they can hold as much RAM as a TV screen, there are no horizontal limitations.

Pixel
A unit that represents pixels in drawing.

PCM sound generator (Pulse Code Modulation sound generator)
This method converts sound into PCM data and stores it in memory, and then reads it from memory and outputs the sound when playing.

interlace
This is one of the image output scanning methods, and it is a method that obtains one frame of image by scanning twice.

MPEG (Motion Picture (image coding) Expert Group)
An international standard for compression of color moving images (including audio) from television and video. Full Screen, Full Color, Full Motion, and CD Quality Audio can be played based on this standard. In addition to complying with international standards, there are original special features.

parts
They are drawn using drawing commands and can be divided into texture parts and non-texture parts.

Perth
To create a sense of perspective in computer graphics, things in the distance are made smaller and things in the foreground are made larger.

sprite
This is an image pattern that can be moved at high speed and redrawn. By preparing several sprite patterns and redrawing them while moving specified coordinates, you can create animation effects such as game characters moving around.

high resolution
Abbreviation for high resolution. Both regular TVs and dedicated monitors can display high-resolution images, but dedicated monitors offer even higher resolution.

texture mapping
A computer graphics method that involves pasting patterns onto objects.

PCM(Pulse Code Modulation)
This method divides the sound (waveform) according to the time axis and replaces each wave height value with digital data. Data obtained using this method is called PCM data.

effect data
This represents the resulting sound when effects are applied to the sound generated by the sound source section through DSP.

reverb
A type of sound field effect that can create the atmosphere of a hall, stage room, iron plate, etc.

PLL (Phase Locked Loop)
A phase-locked circuit (IC) that follows the phase of the input signal.

IPL(Initial Program Loading)
It is one of the list processing languages. Outputs instructions to load the program from the specified input/output device to the processing device.

clipping
This refers to removing image data outside the specified drawing access area.

PAL method (Phase Alternation by Line system)
A standard method for color television broadcasting developed in West Germany with 625 scanning lines and 25 images per second.

NTSC system (National Television System Committee system)
A standard method for color television broadcasting with 525 scanning lines and 30 images per second, approved by the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) and used in Japan, the United States, South Korea, and other countries.
