1. Prepare the environment


This chapter explains how to connect the hardware to use Sega Sound Tool.

A Macintosh is required for sound production.
If you consider the equipment configuration with Sega Sound Tool as the center, it will look like the diagram below.
If you use a commercially available tool such as AUDIOMEDIA II, the connection will be slightly different, but it will be omitted in this chapter.

Preparing the equipment

  1. Although it is possible to create songs without a MIDI sound source, we recommend using one, as the work will be quite burdensome.
  2. In the case of a MIDI sound source that does not have a connection port to a Macintosh, use a "MIDI interface".
  3. In addition to DAT, MD and CD players can also be connected to the digital input.
