Sound Development Manual/1. Overview
■Development overview
- With Saturn's sound system, the target board itself is built as a polyphonic multi-sound source with up to 32 notes that can be played using MIDI, so that you can easily develop sounds without the knowledge of programs such as assembler that was previously required. I am.
By creating tone bank data using a dedicated tone editor with a configuration similar to a commercially available synthesizer tone editor, you can develop sounds just like composing DTM (desktop music) using a regular MIDI sequencer. Furthermore, the DSP linker allows you to freely link effects such as reverb, delay, chorus, etc. (within memory) from commercially available digital multi-effectors. Using the mixer function of the tone editor, you can set the level and localization of each tone as well as the amount and type of DSP effects in the tone bank data. In addition, audio sampling can be directly imported into the Macintosh from the target board's digital input and waveform editing can be performed, allowing for efficient development.
