Color the entire object

First, color the entire object (ie all polygons).
Add TAG to all points.
“T” key + left mouse button Drag to enclose the entire object at once. TAG is attached to all points.

Then
[Polygon] → [Select Mode by tag vert]
please choose.

Caution
If this function is selected once after SOFTIMAGE is started, the function will continue until EXIT (only in Matter mode).

You can use any window here, so put your cursor and click left mouse button . This will highlight the entire object in pink.

In this state,
[Polygon] → [Assign New Material]
please choose.
A window called “Material Editor” will open.
First, “Shading Model” is set to “Phong” by default. Set this to “Lambert”.

Caution
Always set “Lambert” when coloring objects used in Saturn.

Next, color the selected polygon.

Here,
R: 0.510, G: 0.540, B: 0.690 (dark blue) I will give you the color.

First, click Middle Mouse where “0.700” is displayed next to “R” and enter “0.51”. After entering, be sure to press the return key.
Similarly, enter “0.54” for “G” and “0.69” for “B”.
The “Diffuse” color should now be dark blue.

Next, match the values of “Diffuse” and “Ambient” with the method 1) or 2).

1) Click the square of the character displayed as “Ambient” with the left mouse button. When the clicked square becomes a double square and all the RGB values are “0.500”, enter the same value as when “Diffuse” is colored.

2) Click on the “Diffuse” (colored) square with the middle mouse or the right button while there are double squares. I think the same color was copied to “Ambient” (this method is recommended because it is faster in work).

Caution
In Saturn, the “Diffuse” and “Ambient” values must match.

Next, give it a name.
Write three English characters (SNN, etc.) that represent the polygon attributes in “Name”.
Representative characters are arranged in the order of [Plane], [Sort], and [Mesh].

1) [Place] settings

Sets whether the polygon is single-sided or double-sided.

2) [Sort] settings

Set the representative point of Z_Sort.

3) [Mesh] settings

Set whether to make the polygons semi-transparent.

Therefore, a combination of SNN, DCO, SCN, DFN, etc. can be considered, but “SNN” is used as a standard.
Enter “SNN” in uppercase letters at “Name”.

Caution
The converter looks at the three letters of the name, gives the polygon an attribute, and displays it on Saturn.
Therefore, be very careful when naming.

Caution
In SOFTIMAGE, the same material name cannot exist twice. (If the same material name is specified, a number is automatically added after the same three letters (eg SNN2).
In short, if you name some polygons of an object on the screen, for example, “SNN”, you can no longer use “SNN” for other polygons. However, “SNN” and “SNN1” and “SNN6” are treated as completely different things. However, the converter ignores the next number of the three alphabetic characters, so “SNN1” and “SNN6” are treated as the same thing.

Click on “Accept” at the bottom right of the screen.
